Nurses Week 2018

The St. Maarten Nurses Association will be hosting their Nurses Week from May 6th to May 12th under the theme NURSES: Transformational Leaders, Advocating for Quality Health Care. It has been the custom of the Nurses of St. Maarten to give God thanks in everything and host a thanksgiving service. This year the Nurses will join in our celebration of the Holy Eucharist on Sunday, May 6th at 8:30 am at St. Martin of Tours Church in Philipsburg. Let us pray for all nurses that God guide their work and help them to find meaning in the service they offer.

We are kindly requesting your cooperation to safeguard our church pews and kneelers, during the Liturgy of the Eucharist, prayers and meditation. After communion please put down and lift up the kneelers very softly and gently as your fellow parishioners are praying or meditating.

Parishioners are also kindly asked not to bend the Hymnals
or the pages as markers while using them.

Holy Week 2018

The St. Martin of Tours Parish celebrated Holy Week 2018 in its three churches. Many parishioners and guests filled the churches to be witness to one, some or all of the celebrations. All experienced the services as impressive. For a pictorial of the Holy Week celebrations in the different churches, please click the picture.

World Day of Prayer

World Day of Prayer will be observed on Sunday, April 22nd, also known as "Good Shepherd Sunday."  The purpose of this day is to fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2).  Please pray that young men and women of our island would hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life or secular institutes.
