YOUTH SPEND WEEKEND AWAY AT RISEN CHRIST COMMUNITY CENTRE

 

THE PARISH YOUTH GROUP SPENT A VERY ENJOYABLE WEEKEND AT THE RISEN CHRIST COMMUNITY CENTRE CELEBRATING THE FIRST EVER DIOCESAN YOUTH DAY SATURDAY 31ST JANUARY, THE FEAST OF ST JOHN BOSCO THE PATRON OF YOUTH.

ACTIVITIES BEGAN ON FRIDAY AT THE METHODIST CHURCH ON FRONT STREET WHERE THEY PARTICIPATED IN A " SING OUT" TO MARK  THE WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY. 16 MEMBERS OF THE YOUTH CHOIR SANG IN UNISON WITH THEIR PEERS FROM THE METHODIST CHURCH IN JOYFUL PRAISE AND THANKS TO GOD.OTHER GROUPS THAT SANG INCLUDED CHILDREN, WOMEN, AND MEN CHOIRS.THE GROUP OF 18 THEN PROCEEDED TO THE RISEN CHRIST COMMUNITY CENTRE WITH SLEEPING BAGS IN TOW FOR THE SNACK OF PIZZA, A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM FOR THE WEEKEND AND LIGHTS OUT AT 11PM.

THE ACTIVITIES FOR THE REST OF THE WEEKEND INCLUDED

 

A VERY INTERESTING TALK BY FATHER BOB ON HUMAN SEXUALITY WHICH LED TO LIVELY DISCUSSION OF THE TOPIC.  

A PICNIC AT FRIAR'S BAY WITH A DELICIOUS LUNCH PREPARED BY A MOTHER OF ONE OF THE MEMBERS  

A MOVIE NIGHT 

LOTS OF FELLOWSHIP OVER MEALS

HOLY MASS AT 11AM AT RISEN CHRIST CHURCH ON SUNDAY

THE WEEKEND CAME TO A CLOSE WITH LUNCH AFTER MASS AND CLEAN UP.
